Remark 7.4.29. The picture below shows what would go wrong in Lemma 7.4.28 if we allowed unoriented points in $Z_{exc}$. In the proof, we need $\hat{\zeta}^{\prime}$ and $\hat{\zeta}^{\prime\prime}$ to be in $L(\theta)$, which would not be true if this example were valid.
